NECO Implements Digital Recruitment for Exam Supervisors

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has modernized the recruitment process for Examination Supervisors and Assistant Supervisors for both the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE), including internal and external assessments.

This shift to digitalization aims to curb unethical practices in the recruitment process while enhancing efficiency and service delivery. According to a statement by the Acting Director of Information and Digital Communications, Azeez Sani, the transition from manual to online recruitment will streamline several aspects of the process. Supervisors’ Nomination Forms, Appointment Letters, and e-photo Albums will now be generated online, ensuring a more transparent and efficient system.

The statement also mentioned that the routine swapping of Supervisors and Assistant Supervisors during examinations will be managed through the online system, further bolstering the integrity of the recruitment process.

NECO has invited qualified teachers holding NCE, Degree certificates, Master’s Degrees, Ph.Ds, and Professors to apply online for positions as Supervisors and Assistant Supervisors for the BECE and SSCE, both internal and external.

It is noteworthy that prior to this digital transformation, the recruitment of Supervisors and Assistant Supervisors was conducted manually by the Council.
